Two of Montana`s most spectacular mountain ranges-the Absarokas and the Crazies-provide a majestic setting for the Yellowstone River community of Livingston Montana. Winter recreationists are equally drawn to the forested canyons. Trails include the 20 groomed miles Shields Loop, with Forest Service cabin rental and lots of play areas nearby; the 7.5 groomed miles of the Cottonwood Trail that leads to some of the greatest mountain playing in all of Montana; the Ibex Cabin Trail, also with Forest Service cabin rental,Come go Crazy in the Crazies with us; the Mill Creek 15 miles of groomed trails with some play areas; and the Rock Creek South, (ROCK CREEK SOUTH WAS CLOSED AS OF DEC, 1st 2009!!!!) with ungroomed trails (Thanks to the Forest Service travel plan)leading to a variety of skill levels of trails and great mountain playing. Parking can be tricky as the new Forest Service lot is not as big as needed. Thanks again FS for this lot.
